The BCCLS catalog makes it easy to request items from other libraries. The following are basic instructions for how to request an item, but please remember we are always here should you need assistance.
How Do I Request an Item?
First, you will need a valid West Orange Public library card to use this service. Requests are placed through the BCCLS catalog* (accessible online, via mobile devices, and in-house at the library) using your library card.
Where Are Items Sent?
All requests for West Orange Library card holders are delivered, by default, to the West Orange Public Library. You may, however, select to have your requests delivered to any BCCLS library if doing so is more convenient.
Length of Wait?
Once your request is processed, it can take up to one week or longer for delivery depending on the demand for the item.
Where Do I Pick My Items Up?:
See the main circulation desk and present the same library card you used to request the item.
How Long are Items Held?:
Items are held for four days.
What If I cannot find the item I want via the BCCLS Catalog?
If an item is unavailable through the BCCLS system, you may request it via the interlibrary loan system at the Reference Desk. All interlibrary loan materials are shipped to the West Orange Public Library for pickup. Please be aware that materials can take up to two weeks for delivery.
Request an Interlibrary Loan through JerseyCat website.
Are there any fees for this service?
All requests are free of change.
